Membership

Thanks for your interest in joining Down River Kayak Club.

NOTICE: We do not have any more assesment paddles for 2025. They will restart 2026. You can still sign up and we will contact you as soon as the next assesment paddle is scheduled! 

One of the Club’s objectives is to provide safe river trips for competent paddlers. 

In order to become a full member, you must be able to demonstrate that you have Grade 2 skills.  This is usually done by completing an assessment paddle. 

The first step is to complete the membership application form (click on the link below), and send your Grade 2 certificate (if you have one) to drkc.membership@gmail.com.  You will automatically go on the Club's list of provisional members, and your application will be reviewed at the next committee meeting (held monthly). 

Once your paddling ability has been assessed as competent, and you have paid the membership fee of $55, you will become a full, financial member.  This will enable you to participate in Club paddles and races on moving water.
